“I first developed mathematical models in crochet in 1997 as tools to explain to my students some properties of surface with negative curvatures and basics of hyperbolic geometry. these fibre creations became my guides for explorations in fibre arts – experimenting with different materials, different colours and becoming involved in collaborative art projects. I will share with the audience the experience of a mathematician stepping into a different world".
co-sponsored By Concordia’s Fibre Programme,Department of Studio Arts, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and Linguistics Student Association.
