POSITION: CURATOR

Cambridge Galleries’ seek a dynamic individual to join our team as Curator for an ongoing program of exhibitions in two gallery spaces within the City of Cambridge: at our main gallery, 1 North Square, and our Preston gallery, 432 King Street East.

Reporting to the Director, this curatorial position is responsible for the production of exhibitions from concept through to realization, including research, planning, organization, set-up coordination and interpretation; budget preparation and management.

The Curator must be familiar with local, provincial and national visual arts communities;
have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team oriented environment. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of the theoretical, historical and intellectual contexts of contemporary art practices and an ability to communicate this knowledge to both specialized and general audiences.  

Applicants require a fine art degree and 3 to 5 years experience in a public art gallery, preferably in contemporary curatorial work.
