Surface Design Association (SDA) announces their Second Annual Online Fundraising Auction, November 1-15, 2009, where anyone may bid and buy. By far the most popular items from last year's auction were scarves and shawls, followed by fibre- and textile-related books and
DVDs. As a result, this year's auction will feature more of the best. www.surfacedesign.org/auction.asp

Artist Opportunity: Artists Invited to Donate Items and Receive Online Exposure

Now is the time to plan for donating to this SDA fundraising event (see above). Acceptable items are scarves, shawls and similar items, DVDs and books about the contributor's work. Textile and fiber artists who don’t create scarves or shawls are invited to take the opportunity to stretch their creativity, as this could be an as yet undiscovered means of expression. Artists' websites will be linked from the auction website, allowing for increased exposure for each donating artist. Donations are tax deductible in the U.S.

Submission form is due September 15, and donations with digital images are due October 1st.
