Emerging Artist

Pictured here are Amy Belanger (top) and Nora Deacon (below) recent graduates of Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning’s Textile studies. Both women along with four other graduates are featured in the first of a series of articles looking at the different textile courses offered at Canadian Universities and Colleges. “Finishing School” is in the Summer 2006 issue of fibreQuarterly

Established Artist

Susan Norman

Susan Norman, under the shelter of City Hall, is an illustrative embroiderer and mixed media artist drawing and painting images in thread. She is recently returned from Lunenburg Nova Scotia where she is part of a new summer show at Laurie Swim’s Quilt Art of the Atlantic Gallery. Her work can be seen on-line at www.susannormanfibreartist.com as well as in “Opulence in Fibre Art”. Linda Janzen and Susan Norman can be found at Castle Kilbride located in Baden, Ontario until August 27

Meet Judith Martin: quilt artist extraordinaire. Judith Martin, quilt artist or Art Quilter, is, regardless of syntax, a well respected and established artist whose work stands at the top of its class. It is a great opportunity to see her work and to talk to her at this out door exhibition. You will find a link to her Blog in the side bar and from there get to her website. Even if you saw her work at the show, there is more to see and it is worth the clicks. (Notice how the word takes on a new meaning on the World Wide Web)
